The application approval process takes about 2 weeks—we’ve outlined the process below:
- We review your application for any missing information. If any additional information is needed, we will contact you (5-7 business days).
- Completed applications are sent to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that oversees the Medicare program (2 business days).
- CMS reviews your application for final approval (2 business days after receipt).
What you will receive by mail
Within 10 business days of submitting your application:
- A letter from Tufts Health Plan confirming we received your application.
Within 20 business days of submitting your application:
- A letter from CMS confirming whether your application has been accepted or denied.
Within 30 business days of submitting your application (if approved by CMS):
- Your Tufts Health Plan ID card.
- Your New Member Kit.
